Every year on Thanksgiving the majority of people wake up and hang around the house then they travel to some other family members house to hang with family and eat a great meal. Well this year I spent it with my boyfriend at his home, which is on a dairy farm. Thanksgiving morning they all went out early like they always do and was busy up until about 2 o’clock and they stopped and took a break to spend time with there family for a few hours, then it was back outside to chore for the rest of the day, while everyone else got to hang out and relax. When I mentioned this to my boyfriend about not getting to relax on this holiday, he smiled and kind of laughed and said that he wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world! He and his family are thankful they get to live that life everyday. So all in all it was a great holiday and made me look at Thanksgiving from another perspective! 🙂
So when it is 60 degrees out side in December it kind of concerns me. The weather has been super nice for it being so late into the year. I must say I really enjoy it! All the talk is about with all the nice weather that we are going to have a horrible winter. I sure hope not! I wonder what other people think. Moderate winter? or a harsh winter? I’m pulling for a easy winter:)
This weekend I was laying in bed on Saturday night. My phone started ringing. I begin to wake up to the ring and answered the phone. With the words at the other end of the line saying that one of my close friends was in a car accident and had passed away. Ryan Rickmen was involved in the world of rodeo. Him and I both went to the same college to chase our dreams. He was one of the best men that I had ever met. He was so kind, caring, honest and had a heart to fulfill his dreams. No one will ever know why God does the things he does and why he takes the people he chooses. That’s one thing I would really like to know. Ryan loved his girlfriend to pieces. She was cleaning out his car after the accident and found a wedding ring, she only wished he had the chance to ask her. She said ” I already know he knew what my answer was” RIP buddy…..
Going from the amazing weather to the cold?!?! This is probably the hardest weather thing for me to get used to. People start wearing there warm heavy coats, animals start growing winter coats and the wind gets brisk. In a way I wonder how animals are born out in a pasture and how they deal so well with the cold weather. Along with the cold weather comes very pretty moments. Like a fresh snow, ice on the trees, animals all stand together and the Holidays…..
So did anyone else get a little turned around with the time change? It seamed to me that the weather got rainy and cold, the days got shorter and that the days just ended to soon. The days are getting shorter and the mornings are getting brighter. I really enjoy nice weather but chilly nights can be pretty nice too~
So last weekend was the Alumni rodeo weekend for me! My best friends from Minnesota came down to see me! Being able to hang out with all the first friends that you made during your first years of college is a great feeling! For me living in Springfield has been a slight challenge because of the fact of not knowing many “rodeo” people. Just getting to see people “like you” was amazing:)
This weekend I get to go back to the school that I had my first years of college. If you didn’t know I college rodeoed. This means I completed at a college level to rodeo for the college that I attended. This I can say was by far the best years of my life! Now my life is far from over (I hope:)) but I wish I could live those years threw out my entire college career!
